Accused remanded in Bhola Gujjar murder case

FAISALABAD: Anti-Terrorism Court Special Judge Raja Pervaiz Akhtar on Tuesday granted seven-day physical remand of accused Ayaz Babli to police in the Bhola Gujjar murder case.
The judge directed police to produce the accused in his court on November 23. The accused, Ayaz Babli, was arrested by police from Dubai through Interpol two weeks ago.
TWO BOOKED: On the orders of the additional sessions judge, Mansoorabad police have registered a case against two people under Section 420 of the PPC.
In a petition, Muhammad Ali of Ramzanabad alleged that Muhammad Waseem and his companion had extracted Rs 600,000 from him on the promise to recruit his son in the Anti-Narcotics Force. He said that the accused neither arranged employment for his son nor returned the amount.
ELECTROCUTION: A container conductor was electrocuted near Novelty Bridge on Samundri Road on Tuesday.
Asad Sultan was unloading goods from a container when his hand touched a transformer. As a result, he received an electric shock and died on the spot.

Sana chairs meeting on Saeed academy dispute

FAISALABAD: A meeting of the seven-member committee constituted by the chief minister to settle the dispute between the University of Agriculture Faisalabad and cricketer Saeed Ajmal regarding running of the Saeed Ajmal International Cricket Academy was held here on Tuesday.
Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah chaired the meeting. During the meeting, UAF Vice-Chancellor Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan and Saeed Ajmal, head of the cricket academy, expressed their reservations. Speaking on the occasion, Rana Sanaullah said that the rules and regulations for running the cricket academy and determination of the legal status of the academy would be considered. He said that the committee would send its report to the chief minister, who would make the final decision. DCO Noorul Amin Mengal, Director Sports Punjab, Mushtaq Tawana and others attended the meeting.
