Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief organiser Dr Arif Alvi and Karachi president Ali Zaidi have condemned Sunday’s attack on a PTI rally in Hyderabad.
The rally was carried out in connection with the local bodies polls where unknown people attacked party supporters in the Latifabad area.
In a statement issued on Monday, the PTI leaders alleged that the Pakistan People’s Party and the Muttahida Qaumi Movement were involved in the attack as its popularity had puzzled them.
They maintained that the PTI was the only party above all discriminations and it believed in the welfare of the people.
At his residence, talking to party representatives from interior Sindh, Alvi said that PTI had awarded tickets to loyal and deserving candidates.
“The PTI is the future of the country and when its leadership comes to power, the country will obviously progress and prosperity will dominate.”
He appealed to the people to vote for the PTI candidates, saying the party would provide resolution of the public issues and problems.
“If transparency is maintained in the upcoming elections, we will sweep the polls,” claimed Alvi.
He said former coalition partners, PPP and MQM, had rigged the General Elections 2013 to get their candidates elected.
One could hope for transparency to a great extent if the electoral process was conducted scientifically and under the supervision of the Pakistan Army and the Rangers, he said.
