SUKKUR: The government is keen to stabilise the economy and has initiated bold steps in the interest of traders and investors as they expend their assets in Pakistan. SM Muneer, renowned trader and President of Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) said on Monday while addressing the Khairpur Chamber of Commerce (KCC) at the Gymkhana Club, Khairpur. He expressed appreciation for the establishment of the Khairpur Special Economic Zone (KSEZ), which is a milestone towards the promotion of trade and business activities. He said that the TDAP eliminated corruption from its institute and initiated some bold steps to lead the country towards the path of development and prosperity. He said that economic growth was on a stable track and China-Pakistan Economic Corridor was a good initiative by the government of Pakistan to bring in economic stability. He advised the body of the KCC to forward their proposals and issues in writing to TDAP. He reiterated upon the traders to pay their taxes as in the coming year or two there would be greater rewards for tax payers. The position of the country would also move up among the growing economies. Muneer urged upon the KSEZ project execution authorities to ensure that all facilities like, electricity, gas, and water were available to motivate for investment in Khairpur. Mumtaz Shaikh, former Federal Minister Dr Miraz Akhtiar Baig, Mian Idrees, Shabnam Zaffar, KCC Chairman Bashir Ahmed Arain, Commissioner Sukkur Muhammad Abbas Baloch, MNA Dr Nafisa Shah Jillani and others addressed the gathering. KSEZ Project Director Capt Anwar-ul- Haq briefed the delegation about the ongoing developments. The delegation advised the project director to speed up the development.
