BISHAM: A teenager was killed and three persons sustained injuries when the roof of a house caved in due to heavy rain and snowfall in Chakesar tehsil of Shangla district, sources said on Thursday.
They said that the roof of the house of Faqir Khan collapsed due to heavy rains, burying the inmates under the rubble.
They said Faqir’s son, Zahidullah Jan, was killed on the spot while his wife and two grandsons sustained injuries in the incident.
They said the locals retrieved the body and the injured from the rubbles and shifted the injured to a hospital in Battagram.
It was learnt that the house had development cracks in the October 26 earthquake.
The intermittent rain and snowfall continued throughout the day.
The plain areas received rain while the mountains received snowfall plunging the mercury below the freezing point.
The fresh spell of rain and snowfall has multiplied the sufferings of the earthquake affectees.
Meanwhile, the district administration has started action against the people who have got their names registered in the list of earthquake affectees.
The district administration has launched the action on the complaint of the Provincial Disaster Managed Authority (PDMA).
The PDMA after analysing the data of the affectees found irregularities in the registration of the affectees and asked the district administration to launch action against such undeserving people.
