GUJRANWALA: Citizens were deprived of cash, gold, vehicles and cellphones in 19 incidents on Wednesday in different areas of Gujranwala.
In Kot Ladha gunmen intercepted Fazil and his wife and snatched Rs 32,000, gold ornaments and a cellphone.
In Alipur near Gajar Gola locality robbers intercepted Abdul Shakoor and his wife and deprived them of gold ornaments, Rs 35,000 and a cellphone.
A man was deprived of new motorcycle in the Alipur area.
At Wahndo locality dacoits snatched Rs 14,000 and two cellphones from Abdul Rauf.
In Ahmednagar bandits snatched Rs 26,000 and two cellphones from Pervez.
In Sadr Police limits gunmen took away a new motorcycle from Rehan.
In Wazirabad area Riaz was deprived of Rs 7,000 and two cellphones.
In Emanabad robbers snatched Rs 7,000 and a cellphone from Beenish.
Near Sabzi Mandi dacoits took away Rs 8,000 and a cellphone from Arshad.
Thieves stole new motorcycles of Nasrullah, Umer, Kamran, Masood, Abdul Rehman, Waqas, Shahzad, Moazam and Shahbaz from different parts of the city.
FARMERS TO GET RS 58B: Some 9,965 farmers would be given Rs 58 billion under the relief package and divisional administration has constituted 36 centres for making payment of the Prime Ministr’s package to the farmers.
Gujranwala Commissioner Shamail Ahmad Khawaja said this while addressing a video link conference with all the DCOs.
He said four centres each had been constituted in Gujranwala and Sialkot, three each in Gujrat, Narowal and Mandi Bahauddin while two centres had been constituted in Hafizabad.
He directed the DCOs to take immediate steps for providing all facilities in these centres. He also directed that DCOs made surprise visits to these centres and complaints of the farmers may be resolved on the spot.
The Commissioner also constituted committees in each tehsil under the AC concerned for proper supervision and warned that no embezzlement or mismanagement would be tolerated and strict action would be taken against responsible officers.
