Islamabad The performance of Chinese acrobats enthralled the audience at National University of Modern Languages (NUML), says a press release. The wife of the Chinese ambassador to Pakistan, Mrs. Bao Jiqing, NUML Rector Major General (r) Zia ud Din Najam, Chinese Cultural Counsellor Zheng Guojin, officials of the embassy, registrar, deans, directors, heads of departments and a large number of participants attended the colourful ceremony. Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Bao Jiqing said that China has 56 cultural versatilities of different groups and Chinese culture is based on peace and harmony. She said that the Pakistan-China relations are deep-rooted and both countries are enjoying the time-tested friendship. She said that NUML was playing the backbone role in promoting Chinese language and culture in Pakistan and the embassy will cooperate with NUML in further enhancing cultural activities for both countries. Addressing the colourful ceremony, NUML Rector Major General (r) Zia ud Din Najam said that Chinese acrobatics is top of the world and Chinese performers have the ability to mesmerise the audience through their perfection in acrobatics. He said that for a closer friendship, language and culture play a vital role and NUML is making all-out efforts to promote Chinese culture and language in the country. The acrobats performers from the South Central University for Nationalities showed their skills and enthralled the audience. The ceremony was jointly organised by the Confucius Institute and NUML.
