GUJRANWALA: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Tuesday arrested three human smugglers in separate incidents here.
In the first incident, the FIA conducted a raid at Hafizabad and arrested human trafficker Rana Imran for receiving Rs 153,000 from a citizen for the release of his brother who was arrested by the Turkish police. In another raid, the FIA arrested human trafficker Muhammad Khan from Phalia. The raid was conducted on the application of a deportee Tasawar Hussain. In another raid, the FIA nabbed human smuggler Anan Shafaqat from Wazirabad. He was allegedly involved in sending citizens abroad on fake documents.
MAN KILLS WIFE: A woman was tortured to death by her husband over a domestic issue at Peoples Colony on Tuesday.
Accused Ashraf quarrelled with his wife Nadia over a domestic issue. Later, the accused with the help of his brother Javed allegedly tortured her to death. Peoples Colony police have registered a case.
APPLICATION AGAINST PTI CANDIDATE: A PML-N candidate contesting in the Local Government polls has filed an application against a PTI candidate for allegedly setting ablaze his camp office.
Qari Hakeemullah, a PML-N candidate for chairman slot, filed an application that accused PTI candidate Amanullah, who is contesting for the same slot, was allegedly involved in setting ablaze his camp office. On the other hand, the PTI candidate while addressing a press conference condemned the allegations of the PML-N candidate and said that the allegations were totally baseless and the PML-N candidate was trying to pressurise him.
