All set to celebrate Diwali

The Hindu residents of the metropolis are concluding arrangements for the three-day Diwali festival that will begin this evening.
The main festival of Diwali will be held at the Swami Narayan Temple, with similar programmes at other small temples, including the Laxmi Narayan Mandir at Native Jetty, the Punj Mukhi Mandir at Soldier Bazaar and Narayanwara Temple.
A ceremony is also scheduled to be held in the Mithi district. It will be attended by Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
President Pakistan Hindu Council MNA Dr Ramesh Vankwani said the Hindu community settled in other parts of the province had also chalked out elaborative programmes to celebrate the festival in a befitting manner.
He said the festival held particular relevance this year as the province was shortly heading for the local bodies elections in many of its parts.
CM wishes Hindus
Syed Qaim Ali Shah, the chief minister of Sindh, extended greetings to the Hindu community on Diwali.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, he said the Hindu community had played a vital role in the development of the country by giving sacrifices in every critical moment. He assured them that the Pakistan People’s Party would continue to play its role for the betterment and progress of the masses of Pakistan, including the minorities.
