MULTAN: An 18-year-old youth was crushed to death by a bus of the Bahauddin Zakariya University on Nawabpur Road on Friday,
Aqib, a resident of Tibi Sher Khan, was on his way when the speeding bus crushed him to death. Aqib had contracted marriage with a girl about 10 months ago. Meanwhile, locals gathered there and staged a demonstration. They also set the bus on fire. Gulgasht police have registered a case against bus driver Noor Muhammad and constituted a team to arrest him.
CHINESE DELEGATION: China has shown interest in upgrading the agriculture related-industrial sector, said Punjab Agriculture Information Assistant Director Naveed Asmat Kahloon.
Talking to The News here on Friday, he said that a five-member Chinese delegation led by Jilin province Agriculture Commission Vice-Director General Wang Xiang visited Multan some days ago and met Punjab Director General Agriculture (Field) Dr Qurban Ali Sindhu, besides holding a meeting with the representatives of the agriculture machinery manufacturing companies. He said that the Chinese delegation also visited Faisalabad’s Chak 34/GB agriculture farm and reviewed cropping and assessed demonstration of agriculture machinery.
He said that the Chinese expertise would bring revolution in the agriculture sector and increase per acre yield.
