KARACHI: PIA recorded a 2-1 triumph against Lahore Customs in the summit clash of PT Yaqoob Memorial Hockey Tournament at Government College Gojra on Friday. The first half of the final match almost went barren before Kashif Ali broke the ice for PIA in the 30th minute by converting a penalty corner. Muhammad Zubair doubled the lead for PIA by scoring in the 37th on a penalty corner. Lahore Customs reduced arrears when Sultan Ashraf converted a penalty corner in the 45th minute.
The Best Goalkeeper award went to PIA’s Nasir Ali, who received Rs10, 000. Best Player of the tournament award of Rs 10,000 was won by Lahore Customs’ Mohamad Asif.
