Indian election campaigns are run with a major focus on Pakistan in order to solicit maximum votes. Rival parties label each other with pro-Pakistan labels to harm the reputation of their opponents. Recently in an election rally in Bihar, BJP President Amit Shah told the crowd to refrain from voting for Modi unless they wanted Pakistan to celebrate.
It is unfortunate that Indian voters often cast their votes on the basis of a party’s anti-Pakistan sentiment rather than the merit of a candidate.
