A team of FIA Gujrat under the supervision of Assistant Director Muhammad Sarwar raided Hundi Hawala at Ikhlaq Currency Naya Bazaar, Kharian and arrested one Imran Ali from the spot on Thursday.
According to the FIA officials, the raiding team recovered Euro 100, $ Dollar 103, Norway Crona 1000, Qatri Riyal 5, Hong Kong Dollar 10, Malaysian Ringat 5, Saudi Riyal 1, Omani Riyal 1 and Pakistani currency of Rs 663,600 from the spot. The team also recovered Khata register, computer, and etc.
SI arrested: Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Lahore Region has arrested a Sub-Inspector of Shadbagh Police Station on the charges of taking bribe.
According to the ACE officials, the accused SI named Basharat Virk was arrested on Thursday red-handedly while tasking Rs5,000 from a complainant Shahbaz Hussain. The complainant accused the SI of taking Rs50,000 already from him.
WORKSHOP: National Highways and Motorway Police organised a road safety workshop in Okara to create awareness on road/traffic discipline among the masses. A large number of people from civil society, DCO Qaiser Saleem, DPO Faisal Rana, Police Officers, Students, Teachers, Lawyers, Transporters, large number of citizens from all walks of life and media men participated in the seminar. Addressing the seminar, Sector Commander/ SSP NH&MP Masroor Alam said: “We are unaware of road sense as a nation while the absence of 3-Es----Education, Law Enforcement & Engineering----especially law enforcement and road user’s behavior being the major stakeholder, were causing accidents. He said most of the accidents occur due to the fault of drivers. He added over speeding, careless attitude, underage driving, use of drugs while driving, fatigue, drowsiness, usage of mobile phone while driving and lane violation are the major factors which result into fatal accidents. DPO Okara Faisal Rana and DCO Qaiser Saleem spoke. ACCIDENTS: Total 543 road traffic accidents were reported in Provincial Monitoring Cell of Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) in all districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours; in which 10 lives were lost and 402 serious injured were shifted to different hospitals of relevant districts. However, some 197 victims, who sustained minor injuries, were discharged on the spot after provision of first aid by Emergency medical teams.
ARRESTED: Lahore police arrested 143 accused of 59 gangs and 190 proclaimed offenders and 896 court absconders during the month of October 2015.During the month of October, 299 cases registered against 299 accused on having illicit weapons, 430 cases were registered and 436 drug pushers were arrested and 78 cases were registered and 585 gamblers were arrested. During the special crackdown 488 cases were registered against 541 culprits on various violations of law.
