DBA strike against registration of cases against lawyers

HAFIZABAD: The District Bar Association members on Wednesday continued their strike against registration of cases against lawyers.
In this connection, the DBA executive committee members held a meeting in the chair of DBA president Syed Nasir Hussain in which they condemned eth attitude of DCO Muhammad Usman and Returning Officer Allah Ditta and demanded registration of cases against them. The lawyers decided to continue their strike till Nov 8. Meanwhile, Azmatullah Tarar advocate submitted a writ petition in the court of the district and sessions judge to register a case against the DCO, RO, SHO City police and other cops for allegedly trespassing on his house illegally and violated the sanctity of the family members. The D&SJ had already ordered registration of cases against SHOs of four police stations, the RO and more than 100 policemen on the applications of eight PTI workers (lawyers) on similar allegations but no case had so for been registered.
14 DONKEYS STOLEN, SLAUGHTERED FOR HIDES: Some unidentified thieves stole 14 donkeys, slaughtered them, and took away their hides.
According to villagers, the thieves stole donkeys of Nazar Muhammad, Irshad Chatha, Ijaz Chatha, Riaz Dhotar, Ashraf Butt, Wilayat, Zaman and Aftab from Sooianwala village and took them to a deserted place where they slaughtered them and took away their hides. Similarly, unidentified thieves stole six donkeys from Kot Qadir Baksh and Thattha Kharlan village and slaughtered them and took away their hides.
