Deceased’s relatives block road, demand arrest of accused

FAISALABAD: D-Type Colony police have registered a case against 31 accused, including six nominated, for killing a PTI worker and injuring three others at Samanabad.
The nominated accused are: Sohail alias Seela, Manzoor Jatt, Malik Asif, Tariq Awan, Abdul Qayyum and Shahzad Ahmad. The accused had opened fire on a rally of PTI candidate Rehmat Ansari. As a result, PTI worker Mubashir Ahmad was killed on the spot while three others were injured. The case has been instituted under Sections 302, 324, 109, 148 and 149 of the PPC and 7-ATA.
Meanwhile, the relatives of Mubashir Ahmad along with area people staged a demonstration on Samundri Road for several hours on Sunday. They were demanding arrest of the accused. They called off their protest on the assurance of the local administration and police high-ups that the accused would soon be arrested.

FAISALABAD: The PTI workers allegedly ransacked an election office of Dr Maqbool Ahmad, a winning candidate of the Mayor Group in UC No-90.
The PTI workers allegedly attacked and ransacked the office of Dr Maqbool after he defeated PTI candidate Mehmood Rehmani. The accused also beat his workers, who were present in the election office.
Meanwhile, the Mayor Group workers staged a demonstration at Bismillah Chowk and demanded registration of a case against the PTI workers.
Mayor group claims winning 84 seats

FAISALABAD: Mayor Group leader Ch Sher Ali has claimed that nominees of his group have won 84 seats out of 157 city council seats.
In a statement here, he said that the defeat of his son Amir Sher Ali did not mean that the Mayor Group had been defeated. Ch Sher Ali said that he would announce his further line of action in a press conference.
14 booked for snatching election result

FAISALABAD: Tandlianwala police have registered a case against 14 people of Chak 426/GB on the charges of snatching result of a Tandlianwala polling station and torturing a polling officer.
The case has been registered under Sections 395 of the PPC and 7-ATA. Raids are being conducted by police to arrest the accused.
