From Our Correspondent
MULTAN: Lahore High Court Chief Justice Manzoor Malik has said that depression among litigants is a prime threat to the system and very existence of the society.
Addressing lawyers at the Multan High Court Bar Association here on Friday, he said that speedy disposal of cases had been ordered keeping in view the litigants’ sufferings. He said that the lawyers and judiciary were two wheels of the same carrier and the judges and the lawyers were bound to respect each other. The LHC chief justice said that the LHC Multan Bench had been provided 12 judges for the first time, which was a history. He asked the lawyers to carry pens in their hands instead of locks, which created more problems for the litigants. He appreciated the lower judiciary for working in late hours to decide the pendency in minimum time. He also appreciated the speedy disposal of cases by the Multan judges and said that their performance was a model for the other districts.
He said that he was proud of being a lawyer and it was a great honour for him that the MHCBA had invited him to address the lawyers.
He said that south Punjab was the land of peace and love. He said that Seraiki was one of the sweetest languages around the world. MHCBA general secretary Malik Langah also spoke on the occasion. Meanwhile, the Multan High Court Bar Association organised a reception in the honour of the LHC CJ and Justice Sardar Tariq Masood.
