The Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK) government has decided to adopt Overseas Pakistanis Commission (OPC) Punjab model to address the problems of overseas Pakistanis belonging to AJK and has requested OPC Punjab to extend cooperation for establishing an online system align to OPC Punjab to deal with the complaints of overseas Pakistanis.
Secretary Industries of AJK has been nominated as focal person of AJK to liaison with the office of OPC Punjab. This was decided during a meeting between Commissioner, OPC Punjab Muhammad Afzaal Bhatti and Chief Secretary AJK Abid Ali. Khawja Daud Ahmad, Director General, OPC, Shabbir Dogar Assistant Director, Haji Ehsan Danish, Chairman Gulf Region National Peace Council and Karamat Khan Overseas Pakistanis attended the meeting.
The Commissioner, OPC Punjab briefed the participants about working of Overseas Pakistanis Commission, Punjab. He pointed out that in order to redress the grievances of Overseas Pakistanis related to government agencies, OPC is playing an effective role under the guidance of Punjab chief minister.
He emphasised that coordination between OPC Punjab and AJK government may be enhanced to resolve the issues of overseas Pakistanis. He invited AJK Chief Secretary to visit the office of OPC with his team to have a glance of working of OPC Punjab wherein all the complaints of overseas Pakistanis were being processed online.
