ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar here on Wednesday directed the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) officials to provide maximum facilities to the taxpayers to increase the number of taxpayers. “While I want the FBR to make all out efforts to meet its revenue targets, I also want that facilitation to taxpayers should also be ensured,” the minister said while chairing a meeting of the senior officials of the Ministry of Finance and FBR on important tax related matters. The meeting reviewed implementation of decisions made during recent interaction with members of the business community including traders, service sectors and the textile sector.
The minister also directed the FBR and other officials concerned to take necessary measures to meet all the legal formalities to implement these decisions.
The minister said that the government attached due importance to the wellbeing of the business community.
He referred to the meetings with delegations of service sectors as well as the textile sector and said they had a very important role in generating revenue for the national exchequer. The government would ensure all possible facilitation to them, the minister said.
