KARACHI: Two male and four female squash players of the country are playing Qatar Classic which starts from Thursday (today) in Doha, Qatar.
Nasir Iqbal and Tayyab Alsam are among the qualifiers in men’s event, which offers $150,000 in prize money.
Muqaddas Ashraf, Saima Shoukat, Samar Anjum and Sadia Gul are to take part in the qualifying round of the women’s event, which offers $115,000.
According to draws released on Wednesday, Nasir is to face Ammar Altamimi of Kuwait and Tayyab is drawn against Greg Lobban of Scotland in the first qualifying round.
In the first qualifying round of women’s event, Sadia is up against Nadine Shahin of Egypt, Samar will play against Nouran El Torkay of Egypt, Saima is drawn against Sina Wall of Germany, and Muqaddas will play against Hania El Hammamy of Egypt.
