Locals robbed of cash, valuables From Our Correspondent GUJRANWALA: Locals were deprived of cash, vehicles and valuables in several incidents on Wednesday. Three bandits intercepted Nabi Ahmed and his wife at Sodhra locality and snatched gold ornaments, Rs 22,000 and a cell phone. Mushtaq Ahmed was deprived of his new motorcycle at the same location. At Ferozewala two robbers intercepted Wajid and his wife and took away Rs 14,000 and gold ornaments. In Eminabad area gunmen snatched Rs 24,000 and a cell phone from Haji Nasar. In City Kamoke police area two robbers snatched Rs 5,000 and a new motorcycle from Iftikhar. In Aroop police area, Shoaib was deprived of Rs 14,000 and two cellphones. In Kamoke Sadr police station limit, dacoits took away Rs 15,000 and a cellphone from Rahat. At Tatle Aali dacoits snatched a new motorcycle from Noman. In Qila Didar Singh, robbers snatched Rs 7,000 and a cellphone from Robina. At Garjakh, dacoits took away Rs 6,000 and a cellphone from Siddique. In different theft incidents cars of Hashim and Shafqat were stolen. Motorcycles of Fayyaz, Zaryab, Abdul Karim, Saqlain, Shahid, Zulfiqar, Adnan and Ilyas were lifted from different parts of the city. LAWYERS GET BAIL: The Anti-Terrorism Court No-1 Wednesday granted bail to three lawyers after getting surety bonds worth Rs 50,000 from each in a government official torturing case. Advocates Rana Ali Akbar, Imran Cheema and Iftikhar were arrested by Hafizabad police on charges of torturing a returning officer Hafizabad/Assistant Commissioner Allah Ditta in his office on October 27. ATC Judge Imtiaz Ahmed also accepted bail requests of other four lawyers, including Manzoor Hussain, Amanullah, Fazal Hussain and Owais Iqbal until November 7. RELIEF FOR QUAKE VICTIMS: Rescue teams and relief items were dispatched from Gujranwala for relief operation for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa quake-hit people. Rescue 1122 Punjab Director General Brig (retd) Dr Arshad Zia told reporters that Rescue-1122 have been given a task by the Punjab government for the relief of the quake victims, so the relief assistance consisting three rescue teams and 35 vehicles of relief items have been dispatched.
