Chinese cultural counsellor visits NUML

Chinese Cultural Counsellor Zheng Guojin said the National University of Modern Languages (NUML) is playing a pivotal role in promotion of Chinese language and the embassy will assist it in further enhancing the capacity of Chinese language department, says a press release.
He said that Pak-China friendship is deeper than the sea and higher than Himalayas and people of both countries have close heartiest feelings for each other and no one can measure the bilateral relations of two friendly countries.
He was exchanging views with NUML Rector Major General (r) Zia-ud-Din Najam during his visit to the university. NUML Registrar Brigadier Aminullah, Director Administration Brigadier Ziaul Hassan Sahi, Acting Head Department of Chinese Language Mrs. Misbah Rashid, Vice President Confucius Institute Dr. Zhang Daojian and other faculty members were present on the occasion.
The Chinese cultural counsellor said that the embassy is making efforts to promote Chinese culture and language in the country and chalking out a comprehensive plan to further enhance the language programme with the support of NUML and NUML's output will be given priority in this regard.
Speaking on the occasion, NUML Rector Major General (r) Zia-ud-Din Najam said that NUML is the only language university of the country and contributing its share in highlighting the positive image of the country. He said that the university is making all out efforts to promote Chinese language in Pakistan and the Chinese embassy should assist the university in further enhancing the language learning programme, which will benefit students to better understand the language and culture of China. He was of the view that after CPEC project the importance of Chinese language has been increased and NUML is making all-out effort to meet the requirements.
