Karachi Former interior minister Senator Rehman Malik and Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad met at the Governor House on Tuesday to discuss the performance of Senate’s standing committee on Interior and Narcotics with respect to the province. The efforts of the standing committee, currently being headed by Malik, were appreciated by the Governor. He said the efforts would not only restore law and order situated in the country but also counter illegal proliferation of narcotics in society. He said that owing to efforts of the Senate’s committee and similar such bodies the country’s youth would soon be freed of such corrupting habits. The officials prayed for the victims of the earthquake which hit Pakistan’s northern areas on Monday as well as called for adopting measures helpful in minimising destruction in the aftermath of natural calamities.
