MULTAN: Senior cardiac physicians Tuesday declared PTI leader Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi physically fit after laboratory tests, it is learnt.
Qureshi reached the Chaudhry Pervez Elahi Institute of Cardiology at pre dawn hours on Tuesday as he felt a chest pain and the cardiac consultants advised tests to establish his ailment.
After getting laboratory reports, Qureshi left Multan for Islamabad to take part in the party activities.
Talking to The News on phone, Qureshi said he was fit physically and going to take part in his routine political activities. He said he could not get his medial check up owing to hectic party engagements.
However he avoided responding to queries about his political activities.
Speculations were rife that he might quit the PTI over his differences with the party’s Punjab leadership and was absent from political scene for the last couple of days.
According to sources, the defeat in NA-144 disappointed Qureshi and his rival lobby in the PTI became active against him for taking wrong decision of fielding ex-PPP leader Ashraf Sohna in the by-elections. Qureshi played a key role in awarding party ticket to Sohna.
