Strict security steps taken: DCO

OKARA: The district administration and the police have taken strict security and protective measures to maintain peace and tranquillity during Muharram.
Talking to reporters, the DCO said more than 176 Tazia processions would be taken out in the district and district administration staff had been deputed within their jurisdiction to supervise, watch and maintain all facilities to the procession attendants.
DPO Faisal Rana said all routes of Tazia processions in the district had been barred with barbed wire and all obstructions had been removed.
He said four thousand policemen had been deputed on security duty in the district. He said the main procession would be taken out from Markazi Imambargah Awan-e-Hussain, F Block at 1pm.
