Pillion riding banned in Multan

MULTAN: DCO Zahid Saleem Gondal on Wednesday imposed ban on pillion riding and display of arms in the district till Muharram 10.
He imposed ban under Section 144 while chairing a meeting held to review Muharram security arrangements here. The DCO ordered stern action against those involved in delivering hate speeches, distribution of hate material and graffiti. He said that the names of Ulema and Zakirs would be included in the fourth schedule after consultation with the Peace Committee members. He said that streetlights on the routes of Muharram processions had been completely installed while a special control room would be established to monitor all activities at the DCO office on Muharram 10. He informed that additional policemen would be deployed at all sensitive spots while suspected persons would be arrested immediately under Section 144. DCO Zahid Saleem Gondal said that the army and a company of Rangers had been arrived in Multan.
