Call to promote unity to maintain peace

BHAKKAR: Unity and brotherhood are vital to maintain peace in the society.
It was said by Sargodha GOC Maj-Gen Farhat Abbas while chairing a meeting of the District Peace Core Committee at the DCO office here on Wednesday. The GOC said that it was the duty of every citizen to promote Islamic teachings to eliminate hatred from the society. He stressed upon the cooperation of religious leaders to maintain religious harmony. DCO Ahmed Mustajab Karamat lauded the cooperation and working of the members of the Peace Committee in maintaining peace in the district. Meanwhile, Rescue 1122 District Emergency Officer Naveed Iqbal said that the rescue staffers had been appointed for Muharram processions so they would not be available for providing medical emergencies during Muharram days.
