BANNU: Three independently-elected councillors Sunday said that they would join the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) to form the district government.
Talking to reporters, Syed Jaffar Shah, Gulfar Ali and Waqar Khan said that they contested the election on May 30 as independent candidates and were elected councillors, adding that they wanted to join the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf.
They said the process of formation of district government in Bannu was delayed after some elements moved the Islamabad High Court against their decision of joining the PTI. “The court has allowed us to join any party,” Jaffar Shah said. They said that the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf would now be in a position to form district and tehsil governments in Bannu after the court verdict as they would join the party very soon.
