DCO orders maximum security for Majalis, processions

CHAKWAL: District Coordination Officer (DCO) Mehmood Javed Bhatti Thursday issued a security plan for Muharram and ordered maximum security for Majalis and processions. Presiding over a high-level meeting at his committee room, the DCO ordered the security for Majalis and processions. DPO Chakwal Dr Moeen Masood and other government officials also attended the meeting. The DPO briefed the meeting that 246 processions and more than 830 Majalis would be held during Muharram and only four Majalis and 17 processions were placed in ‘A’ category after declaring these more sensitive. The DPO said a control-room has been established and sensitive points have been pointed out and foolproof security would be provided.
District Emergency Officer Dr Attique said emergency vehicles and staff is ready to meet any untoward incident. It is learnt that Army troops would reach Chakwal on 6th Muharram until 10th of Muharram for the assistance of the district administration.
