From Our Correspondent
JHANG: District Police Officer (DPO) Adil Memon Wednesday said the district police had chalked out a foolproof security plan for Muharram.
Talking to reporters, the DPO said four companies of Pak Army reached in the district to provide security cover to police and law enforcement agencies.
H said processions would be monitored by drone cameras, saying that some 464 processions and 1,624 Majalis will be held from 1st to 10th of Muharram and 198 Majalis and 291 processions have been declared top sensitive and all necessary arrangements have been done.
The DPO said a comprehensive security plan had been devised while CCTV cameras, metal detectors and walk through gates would also be installed on the main and sensitive processions routes.
He said that with the coordination of the TMA, Fesco and PTCL, all necessary arrangements had been finalised to ensure clearance of processions routes.
He said extra ordinary security measures would be taken on 5th, 7th, 9th and 10th of Muharram to avoid any untoward incident.
He said security of political and religious personalities who were on the hit-list of terrorists had been boosted up and they were requested to curtail their movements during the month.
