Project launched to raise women’s consciousness

The Critical Thinking Forum (CTF) launched its two-year grant project ‘Consciousness Raising of Pakistani Women on Contemporary Academic and Social Issues’ at Lincoln’s Corner, Central Library of the International Islamic University, Islamabad.
Besides the chief guest, IIUI Vice President (Academics) Dr Bashir Khan, and guest of honour, IIUI Vice President (Higher Studies and Research) Dr. Tahir Mansoori, the event was attended by Director of the Female Campus Dr Samina Malik, deans and heads of various departments, faculty members and students.
Sabir Sharif, representative of the US Embassy, was also present on the occasion. Bettina Gorczynski, Assistant Cultural Attache at the US Embassy, attended the event by Skype.
Both vice presidents lauded the forum’s efforts and felicitated on launch of the grant, while they also promised the maximum cooperation in such constructive activities.
On the occasion, Dr. Munazza Yaqoob, Project Director and Founder and in charge of the CTF, gave a detailed introduction of the project.
Dr Munawar Iqbal Gondal, Dean of Faculty of Languages and Literature, and Dr. Samina Malik, also spoke on the occasion and congratulated Dr. Munazza Yaqoob and the CTF team and hailed their efforts and achievements.
They also promised full cooperation and support to the project director and CTF team in carrying out different activities of the project.
The vote of thanks was given by Farhat Meher. At the end of the event, Dr. Munazza Yaqoob presented souvenirs to the guests.
