Wanted militant arrested in Kohat

KOHAT: A commander of the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) was arrested in a raid on a house near Mohammadzai area on the Kohat-Hangu road in the jurisdiction of Cantonment Police Station, an official said on Saturday.
District Police Officer Sohaib Ashraf said that TTP commander Jamil Khan hailing from Tirah valley in Khyber Agency was carrying Rs0.5 million bounty on his head. He said the arrested militant was behind several attacks on the police and security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh. The DPO said Jamil Khan was wanted by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police for conducting blasts at public places. Sohaib Ashraf said the militant had masterminded the explosion at the bus stop in the Peshawar Chowk in Kohat district in February 2014. Several persons belonging to Shia community had been killed and injured in the blast.
