CHARSADDA: Opposition parties in the district council have warned of protest campaign and en masse resignation in case of government failure to issue rules of business.
Speaking at a press conference here on Wednesday, opposition leader Qasim Ali Khan said the government was not capable of running the local government. Scores of councillors were also present on the occasion.
He said the district government had not been provided rules of business in four months and the councillors were unaware of their responsibilities. “We cannot play any role in the district government despite being elected as district councillors,” he regretted.
Qasim Ali Khan alleged that district nazim was making transfers in government departments at the time when other members had not received any job descriptions. He questioned the interference of the district nazim in government departments, saying that how can he (district nazim) transfers government officials in the absence of rules of business.
