KARACHI: Former Pakistan all-rounder Hasan Jamil, who died of cardiac arrest, was laid to rest at the Model Colony Graveyard on Wednesday.
He was 63 and left behind a widow and two daughters.
He played six One-day Internationals (ODIs) for Pakistan, took eight wickets and scored 111 runs.
Hasan made his debut against England at Zafar Ali Stadium, Sahiwal, on December 23, 1977, and scoring 20 runs.
Hasan was also part of Asif Iqbal’s 1979 World Cup squad, but did not play any match.
He also remained a member of the national selection committee.
In his first class career, Hasan Jamil scored 4230 runs with four centuries and took 204 wickets with his left-arm pace bowling.
He played for PIA and after retiring from the national carrier was working as the General Manager Cricket at the Arabian Sea Country Club.

Subhan Ahmed and other officials expressed their heartfelt condolences on the demise of Hasan.
“The entire PCB management, indeed Pakistani cricketing fraternity, is deeply saddened at his demise. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time of sorrow. May Allah give his family the strength to bear this loss,” the PCB Chairman said in statement.
“Hasan Jamil was a thorough gentleman and dear brother to me and his death is shocking,” Salahuddin Ahmed said at his funeral procession.
The funeral was attended by Arif Abbasi, Test cricketers Iqbal Qasim, Shoaib Muhammad, international Saeed Azad, ex-
KCCA chief Siraj Bukhari and a large number of first class cricketers, officials, friends and relatives.
