Rawalpindi:The Water and Sanitation Agency has finalised its plan to start working on preventing any disaster by Nullah Leh during monsoon this year.
This was stated by Managing Director Wasa, Raja Shaukat Mahmood while reacting to a warning by Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), which predicted rains starting from May 29 to June 02.
Raja Shaukat Mahmood who recently assumed charge of Managing Director of Wasa for third time told ‘The News’ that work on desilting /cleaning of Nullah Leh, sewerage lines, inspection work of Wasa machinery which has been commenced would be completed by June 15 in order to prevent any holocaust by Nullah Leh during heavy rains in Monsoon season. The managing director told all machinery including dewatering set, screw jetting machine and vehicles like water bowsers of Wasa are in operational condition.
He said that special teams have been formed to do working on a plan and to meet any kind of eventuality situation during monsoon season. Wasa managing director said that special instructions have also been issued to all concerned staff as well as heads of their section to implement the plan in an effective and practical way during working on a plan as well during the coming monsoon.
