CHAKWAL: Kalar Kahar police on Tuesday booked seven people, including six prayer leaders, on the charge of using loud speakers illegally in separate incidents here.
The police registered a case against prayer leader Hafiz Mumtaz of Choi Jandran village on the charge of installing four loud speakers in a mosque while the Punjab government had allowed using only one speaker in one mosque. In another incident, the police booked prayer leader Siraj Rafiq of Ghausia Mosque at Mallot village for installing three loud speakers in a mosque while the police also booked Ghulam Jafar for using a loud speaker illegally. The same police booked Siddique Akbar on the charge of installing three loud speakers in a mosque at Warala village. Kalar Kahar police also booked prayer leader Muhammad Hafeez of Warala village for installing two loud speakers in a mosque, which was illegal. The same police booked another prayer leader Ghulam Mustafa for installing two loud speakers in a mosque at Mallot village. The police registered a case against shopkeeper Talat Mehmood for using loud speakers in his shop illegally.
