NOWSHERA: The traders Friday flayed the unannounced and prolonged power outages in the district and asked the government to provide relief to the consumers or else they would launch a protest campaign.
The criticism was made during a meeting of the traders and office-bearers of the Markazi Anjuman-i-Tajiran , Anjuman-i-Tajiran Nowshera and Nowshera Kalan here. Markazi Anjuman-i-Tajiran president Ayaz Paracha presided over the meeting.
The participants said that the unprecedented blackouts had brought the business activities in the district to a virtual halt. They said that the excessive power cuts had led to the shortage of drinking water in the houses.
They said that excessive loadshedding was being carried despite hundred percent recoveries of bills and arrears from the area. The trade representatives urged the government to solve the issue at the earliest or else they would be forced to take an extreme step.
