WANA: Tribesmen demanded cancellation of appointments in the Education Department alleging that the appointments were made in violation of merit. The allegations were levelled at an open kutchery held at the Political Compound in Tank. The political administration held the open kutchery to provide an opportunity to the tribesmen to inform the administration of their problems and suggest ways of improvement. The tribesmen told Political Agent Zafarul Islam that appointments in the Education Department were not made on merit and demanded re-advertisement of the jobs. They also accused the agency sports officer of not providing opportunities to the youth of South Waziristan and alleged that the officer selecting players from other areas. The political agent told the tribesmen that the purpose of the kutchery was to resolve their problems. He said the provision of electricity, drinking water, education and health services to the tribespeople was the prime objective.
