FAISALABAD: Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) Director General Muhammad Sohail Khawaja has directed the officials concerned to launch a crackdown on illegal commercialisation of the properties.
The action would be taken against the properties present in the FDA controlled residential colonies and commercial markets for ensuring complete transparency and good management in town planning and building control matters. The FDA DG issued these directions during a meeting held to review the matters relating to illegal commercialisation of properties here on Sunday.
Additional Director General Amir Aziz, Town Planning I Director Asma Mohsin, Town Planning ll Director Mehr Ayub, Deputy Director Admin Yasir Ijaz Chattha and other officers were present in the meeting.
Taking serious notice of some public complaints regarding illegal commercialisation of properties in different residential colonies, the Director General stressed upon the need to immediate stop of converting residential plots into commercial activities without following the certain terms and conditions and departmental requirements and said that this negative trend was caused to unplanned growth of business activities and environment hazards besides loss of government exchequer due to non-payment of official fees and dues.
He maintained that the ban on business activities on certain roads in the FDA controlled areas should be implemented in letter and spirit and immediate action should be taken in case of any violation. He said that the buildings being constructed without approval of site plan and non-payment of dues should be sealed and the residential property being used as commercial property without getting necessary approval should be brought into legal framework. The FDA DG ordered for conducting new survey of properties of the FDA controlled residential colonies and commercial markets for updated entire data as par ground realities.
He stressed upon keeping completed transparency and good governance in all official affairs and warned that any connivance of staffer was found in illegal commercialisation of properties ,the strict departmental action would be taken against the defaulters and case would be sent to Anti-Corruption Establishment for further investigation.
