No SOPs

May 04, 2020

I went to the market yesterday and saw a number of people were selling face masks by the road. The face masks being sold were not covered by plastic. On the one hand, the government maintains a lockdown in the country and on the other, the masks etc being sold are not following any SOPs. These cotton masks are made in small factories and homes and precautionary measures are not taken by them.

Sanitizers are also very expensive in the markets. A 100 ml of small bottle of sanitizer is sold for Rs200-300. These small bottles of sanitizers are made for one person. If more than one person uses the same bottle it must be washed carefully. Masses don’t care about precautionary measure while using it. The government must take serious measures to raise awareness among people regarding use of sanitizers and it must fix the price of sanitizers. The government should take action against those who sell face masks in public without taking precautionary measures. The prime minister has shown an intention to export masks and sanitizers to developed countries. First of all, the prime minister should lower the demand here, then he is allowed to sell masks and sanitizers to foreign countries.
