War of words intensifies: Bilawal says Centre sabotaging Sindh’s efforts against Covid-19

KARACHI: Strongly hitting out against the federal government, the Pakistan People’s Party Chairman, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, has said the PTI led federal government is sabotaging province’s preventive measures against the spread of Coronavirus

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Thursday was presiding over a consultative meeting of senior party leaders through video link. He accused the federal government of opposing every step the Sindh government undertakes to prevent the spread of coronavirus, instead of helping the poor. Bilawal expressed strong concern that the federal government was sabotaging the sincere efforts of the Sindh government to protect the people from coronavirus.

Those who participated include Sherry Rehman, Syed Naveed Qamar, Shazia Marri, Dr Nafisa Shah, Qamaruz Zaman Kaira, Chaudhry Manzoor Ahmed, Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar, Faisal Karim Kundi, Palwasha Khan along with Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, Minister Health Dr Azra Pechuho, Minister Information Nasir Hussain Shah. The meeting discussed in detail the situation arising out of the coronavirus and the economic issues faced by the country in the wake of global contagious virus.

The PPP chairman stressed that relief aid received from the World Bank, international financial institutions, and G20 countries as well as the benefits from the global plunge in the oil prices must be filtered down to the provinces.
