36 college teachers promoted

Islamabad : The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training on Thursday notified the promotion of 36 teachers of Islamabad’s government colleges.

According to notification, nine male and 13 female lecturers (BPS-17) of the federal government colleges and nine male lecturers of model colleges have been promoted as assistant professor (BPS-18).

Moreover, five Senior Teachers (BPS-17) of model colleges have been upgraded as assistant headmistresses (BPS-18).

The Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) had recommended these promotions in its meeting held on February 26, 2020.

The male lecturers of Federal Government Colleges who have been upgraded as Assistant Professors include Azmat Ullah Raja, Imran Ahmed Khilji, Muhammad Ismail, Abdul Majeed, Noor Muhammad, Muhammad Ashraf, Muhammad Arif, Abdur Rahim, Tahir Azam, and Tahir Ali Shah.

Among the female lecturers of federal government colleges, who got promotion as assistant professor include Hajra Karim, Saira Asaf, Nagina Safdar, Nargis Gul Yousafzai, Naheed Khan, Tanzeela Safdar, Arshi Naureen, Farzana Shujaat, Syeda Qurat-ul-Ain Aamir, Saba Farid, Sumera Qurat-ul-Ain, Saima Ijlal, and Faiza Zaidi.

The teachers will be on probation for a period of one year under Rule 21 of the Civil Servants APT Rules, 1973.

The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) will issue the posting orders for the promoted teachers in due course of time.

The Federal Government College Teachers Association has congratulated the newly promoted teachers.

Representative of FGCTA Professor Tahir Mahmood expressed joy and gratitude over promotion of teachers. He said the promoted teachers deserve the recognition and responsibility of the new position.

"Certainly promotion comes along with new assignments and tasks but promoted teachers are capable enough to undertake the responsibilities. I extend thanks for secretary (M/O FE&PT), members and appreciated the efforts of promotion cells of both the Federal Directorate of Education and the Ministry," he said.
