30,000 facemasks recovered

Rawalpindi: In crackdown against illegal profiteering and hoarding, Pirwadhai Police making action against hoarders and black marketing recovered 30,000 facemasks from hoarders in the limits of Pirwadhai Police Station and also arrested two culprits under sections of black marketing and hoarding.

Meanwhile, Nasirabad Police taking action on tip of busted a four member gang of car lifters and recovered nine stolen vehicles from their possession here on Thursday. The accused have been identified as Zahoor alias Niazi, Naeem, Tanvir and Asim, said police.

The gang of car lifters was arrested on tip of received from their accomplices who were arrested few days back and four stolen vehicles were also recovered from them.

SP Pothohar Syed Ali stated that during last four days 13 stolen vehicles have been recovered from car lifters from the twin cities.

Nasirabad Police also arrested a proclaimed offender of Category-B Shahzad Khan who was on the wanted list of Nasirabad Police Station since 2015.

While in a crackdown against one wheeling, 10 wheelies were arrested from the limits of New Town and Cantonment police stations.

SHO Cantonment along with his team arrested seven wheelies who use to make one wheeling stunts at Murree Road and adjacent roads. The accused includes Hamza, Shahid Khan, Atiq Pervez, Syed Hassan Ali, Faizan and Shahab.

While SHO New Town arrested Shah Ateeq, Saifullah and Hamza for one-wheeling stunts.

CPO Rawalpindi DIG Muhammad Ahsan Younis said that crackdown against one wheeling and violation of Section 144 will continue in Rawalpindi and strict action will be taken against violation.
