Four PHA employees sacked for being absent
GUJRANWALA: The PHA authorities on Tuesday dismissed four employees and also served show-cause notice to five others for negligence and absent from duty. It was told that Director Administration Khalid Umar Qureshi dismissed four employees, Zahid Yaqoob, Farhan Ali, Dilshad and Ali Asghar for being absent from duty for the last many months. He also served show-cause notices to Umar Farooq, Faisal Nawaz, Shahbaz Sadiq, Ehsanullah and Shahid Iqbal for showing poor performance and negligence in duty.
‘EVERY POSSIBLE STEP BEING TAKEN TO PROVIDE RELIEF TO MASSES’: Deputy Commissioner Sohail Ashraf has said that every possible step is being taken to provide relief to the masses during the Holy month of the Ramazan. He said this while chairing a price control committee meeting at his office on Tuesday. Assistant commissioners of all tehsils and other officers were present in the meeting. The DC directed all price control magistrates to pay frequent visits to the Ramazan bazaars and open markets to check the implementation on official pricelist and send the profiteers to jail. The matters pertaining to performance of price control magistrates, availability of daily use commodities and their quality and implementation on anti-corona SOPs were discussed in the meeting. The deputy commissioner directed the price magistrates to accelerate action so as to improve service delivery and ensure provision of quality food items to people and also got implement on the anti-corona SOPs in fruit and vegetable markets. He made it clear that the sale of substandard food items, especially fruits and vegetables, would not be tolerated. He said that those shopkeepers, who failed to sell the essential food items on the prices fixed by the government would be dealt with iron hands and heavy fines would be imposed on them. He asked the traders to avoid profiteering and show helping hand with government so that essential daily use items could be provided to the citizens on controlled rates.
GANG BUSTED: Aroop police have arrested four members of a gang and recovered stolen cash, vehicles and illegal arms from them. The police arrested accused Akhtar Ali, Bilal, Hassan and Muhammad Shahbaz who were involved in dacoity and theft incidents. The police also recovered cash and four pistols from them. Meanwhile, City Wazirabad police arrested accused Haroon for violation of kite-flying act. The police also recovered 600 kites and string roles from the accused.
