Rawalpindi : Four people including a newly wedded couple were killed in the jurisdictions of Rawalpindi and Islamabad here early on Tuesday.
The couple, Junaid and Sidra solemnised Nikkah in the court few days earlier. Taking grudge of court marriage, the kin of Sidra reached at the residence of the couple in the limits of Airport police station and opened firing at them. As a result the couple succumbed to bullet injuries on the spot.
Receiving information of the incident, SSP (Operations) Tariq Wilayat and SP (Potohar) Syed Ali along with contingent of police reached at the crime scene and shifted the dead bodies for postmortem.
SP (Potohar) Syed Ali stated that case has been registered and investigations will be made on merit adding that culprits will be taken into custody soon.
Meanwhile, Banni Police intercepted a drug pusher who injured a police constable with hit of vehicle and also made firing at police mobile in a bid to escape.
Police arrested the culprit Fizan and also recovered 2kg Charas, ICE and pistol. The detainee culprit confessed that he brought drugs from Uthiyal village and use to sell in different areas of Rawalpindi. In another episode, a married woman lost her life in an incident of honour killing in Chirag Kalya in the limits of Nilour police station here on Tuesday. Woman, 20, got marriage with Ali, a resident of neighbouring locality, Aarah. The parents of the woman, after the marriage, invited her to home for restoration of grievances and killed her. Nilour Police registered case and start Investigations.
In another incident in the limits of Barakahu Police Stations, Arshad, 55, was killed in firing of unidentified persons. Arshad, a resident of Phulgarah, succumbed to bullet injury in head and died on the spot in firing of unidentified persons, said police.
