18,000 facemasks recovered near Wah Cantonment

Rawalpindi : In crackdown against hoarders and illegal profiteering, police on tip of intercepted a vehicle in the limits of Wah Cantonment Police Station and recovered 18,000 facemasks and also arrested three culprits.

The accused includes Imran khan, Talib and Burhan who were taking the large quantity of facemasks to sell on exorbitant prices in wake of coronavirus pandemic.

“Amidst prevailing coronavirus lockdown, police have been carrying out crackdown against hoarders and elements responsible for selling facemasks on exorbitant prices,” said SP Pothohar Syed Ali.

Amidst prevailing Coronavirus pandemic, facemasks and hand sanitizers are being sold on exorbitant prices all over the country and elements with aims to mint illegal profiteering use to smuggle facemasks and hand sanitizer to maximize their profits.

Meanwhile, Cantonment Police Rawlpindi arrest two dacoits of TT Terror gang for involvement in dacoities and robberies in different areas of Rawalpindi, Islamabad and Jehlum.

Among detainee culprits of TT gang including ring leader of this gang and police also recovered weapons from their possession. The culprits were shifted to jail for identification parade and interrogation are in process to recover the robbed things from the detainee dacoits, said SP Pothohar.
