KARACHI: Ramzan Mubarak, the holiest of holy months has arrived, giving Muslims around the world an opportunity to seek forgiveness and blessings from Allah (SWT) through worship and acts of kindness towards our fellow human beings.
GEO has always welcomed Ramazan with a transmission that aims to educate as well as entertain its audience. While promoting the ideas of Ehsaas, empathy and huqooq-ul-ibaad; and propagating the teachings of Islam, GEO has always endeavoured to observe the true spirit of this month.
This year as well, Geo’s signature ‘Ehsaas Ramzan’ transmission will highlight the true importance of giving, kindness and consideration with the help of dedicated programming for both Aftaar and Seher.

Renowned religious scholar and cleric Maulana Tariq Jameel will narrate important events from Islamic history in order to guide us in these difficult times. During our Seher transmission, Maulana Mohammed Ali Shah will be enlightening us with more useful wazaif in “Wa Eyaka Nastaeen”. In “Islam Aur Science” Dr. Khalid Zaheer will enlighten us with different remedies taught by our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the many scientific indications already present in the Quran. And in “Riyasat-e-Madina” he will present an in-depth look at thirty incredible traits of Madina’s governance.
Under the guidance of Maulana Tariq Jameel, Saqib Raza Mustafai, Ammar Nakshawani, Tahirul Qadri and Noman Ali Khan, the “Aalim Online” segment will aim to answer the audiences’ questions about clarification, confusion and misconceptions regarding the teachings of Islam.
Both the Seher and Iftar transmissions will end with a dua which will be conducted by respected religious scholars. Chef Naheed and Chef Sumaira will also be joining the transmission to share delectable recipes that our audiences can prepare for both Aftar and Seher.
Geo is also proud to present the second season of last year’s successful series ‘Makafat’, conceptualized around the theme of makafat-e-amal, focusing on stories that illustrate the fact that in this life you reap what you sow. Geo will also premiere the series ‘Dikhawa’ which will be highlighting the social and religious repercussions of pretentiousness, showing-off and posturing. With these two fiction series, Geo hopes to engender a wholesome understanding of the principles of empathy and kindness.
