SZABUL ready for online classes

The Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto University of Law (SZABUL) on Thursday finalised arrangements to conduct online classrooms in case the present lockdown goes beyond the summer vacations.

The online classrooms will be organised trough Microsoft Teams software, specifically acquired from Microsoft by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC). HEC Chairman Dr Tariq Binauri has arranged the availability of this software to facilitate the universities in carrying out their educational activities amid the lockdown.

According to a press statement issued by the SZABUL, an online meeting of the varsity’s faculty was held with Vice Chancellor Justice Dr Rana Muhammad Shamim. Dean Faculty of Law Prof Dr Rukhsar Ahmed told the meeting that data of all 2,500 students had been fed into the system, while separate classrooms have been created for each faculty member. The system, he said, was ready to be operative after the summer vacations. The meeting was told that the online classrooms would have all facilities of real classrooms, including digital board, pictorial representation, PowerPoint slide show, assignment submission portal, and real-time interaction.

The vice chancellor appreciated the efforts of the faculty to make sure that online classes were available for the students in the lockdown continued after the summer vacations. The VC said he wanted every possible measure to be adopted to save precious time the SZABUL students.
