CM Mahmood Khan opens Police School of Intelligence academic block

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has inaugurated the newly-established academic block of Police School of Intelligence in Abbottabad.

According to an official handout, the Police School of Intelligence Abbottabad established back in the year 2014 is the first-ever and only training institute of the country which provides standard trainings to various ranks of police officers in security intelligence, counter-terrorism intelligence and other specialities of intelligence.

Besides police officers of KP, training is being imparted to the cops from other parts of the country, including Islamabad, Gilgit Baltistan, Azad Kashmir and Punjab. The chief minister inaugurated the school during his visit to Abbottabad on Wednesday.

Speaker KP Assembly Mushtaq Ghani, Chief Secretary Kazim Niaz and Inspector General Police Sanaullah Abbasi were also present on this occasion. Talking on this occasion, he termed school a matter of pride for the province and said that with the newly emerging challenges of modern policing, the need for such training institutions had increased many folds.

Briefing the chief minister about the overall performance of the school, it was told that 4656 police officers of various ranks had been imparted training in various specialities so far.

Meanwhile, the chief minister has said members of Tableeghi Jamaat belonging to other provinces and countries presently quarantined in the province are our guests and brothers, adding they will be taken care of as per our traditions of hospitality.

He was talking to a three members delegation of Tableeghi Jamaat which called on him here on Thursday and discussed with him matters related to the facilitation of the members of Jamaat quarantined in different parts of the province.

Provincial Minister Amjad Ali Khan and Adviser to CM Ajmal Wazir were also present on the occasion.
