Newly-appointed German Ambassador Ms. Ina Lepel visited Roots Ivy School, College & University to promote goodwill and improve the bilateral cordial relations between Pakistan and Germany, says a press release.
Khadija Mushtaq, CEO Roots Ivy Schools and Colleges, along with the students waving German flags and faculty members gave an overwhelmingly warm welcome to the distinguished guest.
The ambassador initiated her visit by taking a tour of the German Resource Centre and meeting native German language faculty members at Roots Ivy University campus followed by German language programme updates by the students, national anthems of both nations, speeches, cultural show, songs and stalls at Roots Ivy, DHA1 campus.
Roots Ivy School & College is the only school and college in Pakistan to be continuously offering the German Language Programme through a state of the art German Resource Center and an active German Cultural Club for all levels students since 2009.
Speaking on the occasion Khadija Mushtaq said, "I am very proud to share with you all that Roots Ivy International School/ College has been teaching German language by native Germans to all tiers starting from junior school to A-levels. These native teachers are available on the campus at all times to facilitate the students. At Roots Ivy, it's not just about learning the German language but it's about learning the culture and respecting diversity. In a globalized world characterized by international links and inter-cultural connections, acquiring linguist skills has become a crucial necessity for availing opportunities in international careers. If we want our students to be multi-linguistic and appreciate the cultural differences we have to educate and enlighten them to become globally accepted. The students that are selected to be sent to Germany for higher studies are very versatile, talented, skilled and cosmopolitan individuals who respect different cultures and diversity. They will be valued citizens in Germany becoming a part of the wide multi-cultural environment. They will be a source of inspiration as well as contribute to the German economy and be a positive asset for the job market."
Ina Lepel thanked Khadija Mushtaq, the staff and students of Roots Ivy for such an overwhelming welcome and said that she was extremely impressed with the fluency of students speaking German language and the immense talent potential of the school. She emphasized that the institute is truly depicting a modern image of Pakistan where every Rootsian is the perfect cosmopolitan, multi-cultural representative of the nation.
In the end, she thanked everyone for being such gracious hosts and said that she was mesmerized and overwhelmed to see the warmth and love of all the students and very touched by their goodwill gestures like the handwritten cards, emotional speeches, colorful performances, traditional stalls, etc. She said that she will always remember and cherish her first visit to Roots Ivy School & College.
