GWMC fails to dispose of animals waste

GUJRANWALA: The Gujranwala Waste Management Company (GWMC) has failed to dispose of animals waste properly.
Different areas of the city are littered with offal and other wastes of sacrificial animals. To keep the city clean and remove the sacrificial animals’ wastes, the Gujranwala Waste Management Company has cancelled leaves of the sanitation staff to work round-the-clock but the result was not according to the wishes of the people.
Besides this, the City District Government Gujranwala has imposed Section 144, banning the burning of sacrificial animals’ heads during Eid days but it is allegedly violated by the people in different city areas, including People’s Colony, Pondawala, Garjakh and Fareed Town.
LT-GEN GHAYYUR VISITS LOC: Gujranwala Corps Commander Lt-Gen Ghayyur Mahmood visited the Line of Control (LoC) in Sialkot on the eve of Eidul Azha and wished Eid to the soldiers. He appreciated the troops’ morale and professionalism and asked the Jawans about their welfare. General Officer Commanding Sarfraz Sattar and Maj-Gen Majid Ehsan were also present on the occasion.
