MARDAN: At least four people were killed and 15 others, including four women and a child injured, in separate incidents of firing all over the district during Eidul Azha, police said on Sunday.
According to the Toru Police Station, Jan Wari of Marhati told the police that she along with her son Adnan were going to her son-in-laws’ house when unidentified armed motorcyclists allegedly started firing on them near Wali Khan interchange.
As a result, her son died on the spot. The police registered the case.
According to Takhtbhai Police Station, unidentified people killed a 45-year-old man and dumped his body in the fields near the Government Girls Middle School, Pathai Kalan. The police shifted the body to hospital for autopsy.
According to another case of murder registered on the report of Gohar Ali at Rustam Police Station, Mohammad Laiq allegedly shot dead his wife Neelum over a domestic issue.
According to another case lodged at the Par Hoti Police Station, one Murad Ali Shah said that his sister Sumaira, who had been married to Rashid of Khyber Agency, was facing family issues.
He said his sister had got angry with her husband and left his house and started staying at his (father’s) house. He said Rashid allegedly entered his house and started firing, killing his brother Khalid and injuring his niece Manahil and Sumaira who were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital.
Another report lodged at Sheikh Maltoon Town Police Station mentions that one Abdul Qayyum told the police that Niaz Ali, Amanullah, Sher Ali, Javed, Awal Khan and Israr allegedly opened fire on them over a minor issue. As a result, Jan Bibi, Sarwar, Asif, Ghafar Ali, Sher Aman, he sustained injuries.
The Par Hoti Police Station lodged another case, according to which two brothers Zar Shad and Khan Shad, residents of Sang Marmar village, exchanged harsh words over the local government elections in their house and later started firing on each other. As a result, seven persons were injured.
